I like to think about this in two parts: how I photograph your day, and the magic that happens afterwards. How I shoot: Observant, artful & intuitiveI’m interested in more than just what happened — I’m looking for how it felt. The quiet glances, the movement, the way light falls across a room, a hand reaching for another, or a fleeting moment that might otherwise go unnoticed. I’ll step in with thoughtful direction when you need it, especially when a little guidance helps you feel comfortable in front of the camera. But I also leave plenty of room for things to unfold on their own! My design and fine arts background naturally shapes the way I see a wedding: I’m always paying attention to composition, light, colour, architecture, movement, and all the unexpected little details that make a photograph feel like more than just a record of the day. How I edit: Rich, warm & atmosphericEditing is where I get to shape the visual language of your gallery. I’m drawn to rich colour, depth, warmth, and a little moodiness, with soft highlights and a creamy quality that gives photographs dimension without making them feel overly polished. I don’t believe every photograph should be treated exactly the same. A quiet portrait in beautiful light might want softness and warmth, while a dance floor or dramatic architectural moment might call for deeper tones, contrast, and atmosphere. Family formals and more traditional photographs often benefit from a softer, more timeless approach. Rather than applying one formula to the entire gallery, I look at what each photograph is asking for — the light, the setting, the people, and the feeling within it — and edit accordingly. The goal is a gallery that feels cohesive and unmistakably Red Bean, while still feeling true to you and the day you actually lived.

Candid doesn’t necessarily mean I’m hiding in a corner with a long lens waiting for something to happen. For me, it’s about being observant and anticipating the moment — knowing when to step back and let things unfold, and knowing when a little direction can help create the shot. Some of my favourite photographs happen completely on their own. Others happen because I noticed the light, moved you somewhere interesting, or gave you a little nudge. It’s a balance between the two.

You’re definitely not alone!Being in front of a camera isn’t natural for most people, and I don’t expect you to suddenly become professional models for the day. My job is to make the process feel easy and comfortable, not to leave you wondering, “Oh shoot… what do I do now?”I aim to keep posing direct and simplified — enough guidance to give you something to do without over-engineering every movement. I’m not really into elaborate prompts that make you wonder what on earth you’re supposed to be doing. From there, we’ll ease into it together and find what feels natural for you. If something feels weird or doesn’t feel like you, we’ll shake it off, laugh about it, and try something else. The goal isn’t to make you look like professional models. It’s to give you enough direction to feel comfortable, while still leaving room for the moments that happen naturally.
